Cosmopolitan, cultural, glamorous and bustling, the capital of Nicosia is a unique blend of an ancient, walled city and a modern, fast-paced metropolis that is the epicenter of the island’s business and commercial activity.

From the 360 Tower, meet and proceed with your Licensed English-Speaking Tourist Guide toward Eleftherias Square, the main square of central Nicosia and one of the 35 landmark projects designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid. Passing through the square and entering the old city, we will encounter the impressive Venetian Walls, constructed in the 16th century for the fortification of Nicosia.

As we continue strolling through the narrow streets of old Nicosia, we will walk through Laiki Yitonia, a beautifully restored 19th-century quarter filled with traditional taverns and craft shops. The tour may be extended, at an additional cost, to include a visit to the Leventis Museum, which was founded to showcase the rich and diverse history of Nicosia, Europe’s last divided capital. Its exceptional collections, featuring over 10,000 objects including maps, documents, paintings, engravings, and traditional costumes, narrate the city’s story from prehistoric times to the present, inviting visitors to connect with its rich past.

Next, we will visit the Ledra Street Checkpoint, one of nine checkpoints on the island that demarcate the division between the Republic of Cyprus and the self-proclaimed state in the island’s occupied northern part, held by Turkish forces since 1974.

From the Eleftheria Monument, we will continue toward the Archiepiscopal Palace, the residence of the Archbishop of Cyprus. Adjacent to the palace is the 17th-century Cathedral of St. John, home to extraordinary 18th-century frescoes. The route also includes notable landmarks such as the Hadjiyiorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Hamam Omeriye, and the Omeriye Mosque, a site that originally served as a 12th-century Catholic monastery and is now an active mosque.

The tour concludes with a return to the 360 Tower.

From the 360 Tower, meet and proceed with your Licensed English-Speaking Tourist Guide to board the 55-seater Big Bus. Departing from Makariou Street, the bus will head toward the historical quarter of Nicosia. En route, you will have the opportunity to view the Cyprus Archaeological Museum, housed in one of the most significant examples of colonial-era architecture. Completed in the early 20th century and dedicated to Queen Victoria of England, the museum today exhibits artefacts spanning from the Neolithic period - marking the beginning of Cypriot civilization 10,000 years ago -through to the Proto-Byzantine era of the 4th century A.D.

As the journey continues, we will pass by the Paphos Gate, one of the three original entrances of the 16th-century Venetian Walls. The bus will then circle the perimeter of the walls and their historic bastions before arriving at the Eleftheria’s Monument, dedicated to the island’s struggle for liberation between 1955–1959.

From the Eleftherias Monument, we will continue on foot toward the Archiepiscopal Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Cyprus. The route will also take us past the Hadjiyiorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Hamam Omeriye, and the Omeriye Mosque — a site that originally served as a 12th-century Catholic monastery and is today an active mosque.
